Yu.S.Savenko

Definition of an essence of professionalism by W. Heisenberg as not greatest knowledge, but knowledge of standard mistakes in the profession makes this subject one of the central. The relation to the errors among the Russian psychiatrists since the end of the 19th century has revolutionized. Among fundamental errors – lack of clear definition concerning theoretical and philosophical fundamentals of psychiatry and even history of domestic psychiatry of the second half of the XX century that interferes with adequate orientation.

The crucial role of the critical trend in science which has exceled in principle of Popper’s falsifiability is shown. Reorientation from verification of the hypotheses to their criticism allows to minimize various forms of unfairness in science. G. N. Shumsky’s monograph "Diagnostic errors in forensic-psychiatric practice" on materials of archive of the  Serbsky Center for 1962-1983, published in 1997 is provided as a striking example, and the attitude of the Serbsky Center towards it is also shown.
