WHERE PSYCHIATRY MOVES TO?
The prognosis of Max Weber about steadfast mounting formalization and bureaucratization has proved to be correct in psychiatry too even in its classification. Revealing is the trend of ICD in the direction of simplification and pragmatic approach and in clinical practice to standartization.
In Russia reducing of financing and departure from the social model of health care service have led to such criteria of estimation of doctors and scientific workers work which results in compulsion to careless work.
The stylistics of police psychiatry and law enforcement agencies becomes more evident, boorishness of power increases up to level of practical psychiatrists, which promises a tectonic dislocation in the base of public organism itself.

ABOUT SOME OF THE ORIGINAL ORGANIZATIONAL APPROACHES TO THE TREATMENT OF ADDICTIONS IN RUSSIAN NARCOLOGY. OUTSIDE POINT OF VIEW
F.B.Plotkin (Minsk, Belarus)
The content of the article "Starting with hedonism and anomie, passing through alcohol and drugs, ending at ecstatic pseudo-Christian religious groups: sobriety at any price?" of N. Kaklyugin, which was published in 4 issues of the "Narcology» journal (No. 2, 3, 5, 6; 2015), has been analyzed in details. The attention is drawn to the predominance of a religious subject-matter in the form of the discussion of inter- and intra-confessional problems, that is far from the profile of the journal. The article indicates a paradoxical situation in Russian narcology, when instead of prevention of the use of psychoactive substances; the emphasis is made on the rehabilitation of the individuals who have become addicted to drugs.
It is stated that it is planned to spend the significant financial funds, which are allocated by the Government of the Russian Federation for the rehabilitation, not on the development of the existing state structures, comprising trained professionals, but for the support of non-governmental rehabilitation centers, mostly with religious orientation. The attention is drawn to the competitive struggle arisen among them, which is not always fair, for the alleged receipt of material resources. The attention is given to a strange decision to entrust police department with the management of rehabilitation of drug addicts. It is stressed a uniqueness of the situation, when senior government executive and legislative structures instead of the relevant ministry are involved in the solution to a highly specialized medical problem. The article contains an appeal for the staff of the "Narcology" journal to focus on the discussion of the narcological problems with the respective specialization of the journal.

ELECTROCONVULSIVE THERAPY: KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND ATTITUDES OF PATIENTS WITH SCHIZOPHRENIA
E.B. Lyubov and the Research Group
Despite its proven efficacy and safety, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) has a negative image and attracts widespread public criticism. According to a multicenter survey, knowledge and attitude concerning electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is one of the important parameters for acceptance as a safe and effective treatment option. Patients undergoing ECT were usually poorly informed about it. This was attributable to factors such as unsatisfactory pre-treatment explanations or post-ECT memory impairment. Fear of ECT and distressing side effects were also present in a majority. Despite these problems, a vast majority of patients perceived ECT to be helpful and had positive views regarding the treatment. Much needs to be done to improve the everyday practice of ECT and to enhance patients’ satisfaction with the experience of treatment.
